Facebook is launching M to the masses. Facebook claimed that M is your helpful assistant in Messenger which is powered by Artificial intelligence. M right now pop up and suggests “Helpful actions” in the chat window itself.
In August 2015, Facebook introduced a digital assistant for Messenger that was known as M. Now Facebook is launching M to the masses. Facebook claimed that M is your helpful assistant in Messenger which is powered by Artificial intelligence.
As we already mentioned M is powered by Artificial intelligence and was supposed to be trained and managed by real people. Well, recently Facebook had rolled out this digital assistant to all messenger users in the United States.
Facebook on a blog post said “Today we’re excited to announce the launch of suggestions from M to everyone in the US. M is your helpful assistant in Messenger, powered by artificial intelligence.”
Facebook claimed that M right now pop up and suggests “Helpful actions” in the chat window itself. For example, if anyone is planning for a dinner, M will suggest that they create a shared plan which will remind them of the meeting as it approaches.
Facebook further explained “When we announced M over a year ago, it was a small AI experiment powered by humans that could fulfill almost any request. We learned a lot and these interactions have enabled us to build a completely automated version of M that suggests helpful actions in your chat, exposing features people may not have known were available right in Messenger.”
Right now, M includes following actions by recognizing the intent of the user:
- Sending stickers
- Making plans
- Starting a poll in group
- Location sharing
- Paying/requesting money
- Getting a ride
